Lincoln College Wrestling
Last night the Lincoln College wrestling team finished their regular season with a 41-12 win over Knox College at home. Knox College won the 1st two weight classes due to forfeit, but after that the Lynx team took over the dual winning the next 8 matches. The team finished the regular season with a 9-3 record. Results for the dual are as followed: 125 lbs. Forfeit 133 lbs. Forfeit 141 lbs. Ethan Raley - won by technical fall 149 lbs. Mark Marianovich - won by major decision 157 lbs. Mike Togher – won by fall 165 lbs. Alex Young – won by decision 174 lbs. Steve Burling – won by fall 184 lbs. Matt Dwyer – won by fall 197 lbs. Michael Johnson – won by forfeit 285 lbs. Gabe Berry – won by technical fall The Lynx team will now start focussing and preparing for their national qualifying tournament hosted by Triton College in River Grove, IL. on Sunday February 12th. The top four finishers in each weight class will advance to the National Tournament hosted by Rochester Community College in Rochester, MN on February 24th and 25th. As the team heads into the post-season they are currently ranked 4th in the country according to the latest poll. The Lynx have six individuals ranked in their respective weight classes. 125 lbs. Individuals ranked: 125- Prentice Thomas 6th 141- Ethan Rally 1st 149- Mark Marianovich 5th 157- Mike Togher 8th 184- Matt Dwyer 2nd 197- Mike Johnson 3rd The rankings are not yet on the NJCAA website.
