In the realm of small-college track and cross country, Hazen has few peers. At 72, he could be the oldest member of the U.S. contingent as the men's distance coach for the track and field team.

Nine Malone Baseball Players Collect ICAA, NCCAA Postseason Honors

A total of nine Malone University baseball players were recognized when the Independents Collegiate Athletic Association and NCCAA East Region recently announced their postseason awards.

Three students enrolled in the Weaver Child Development Center at Malone University have been named winners for their age group in the Stark County District Library’s 13th Annual Poetry Contest.

They are: Kobe Byler, son of Joyce Byler and Doug Byler and a 3rd grader from Canton; Alex Zuckett, son of John and Wendy Zuckett and a 2nd grader from Jackson Township; and Maggie DeLap, daughter of Brian and Andrea DeLap and a 3rd grader from Canton. All three are students of Mrs. Carol Parks and will receive a book of poetry.

The children have been invited to read their works at a Poetry Café tomorrow, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the main library branch located at 715 Market Avenue North, Canton, OH 44702.
